My primary research areas focus on using immersive technology, in general, and metaverse, in particular, to enhance learning and teaching in K-12 and higher education.

I published a chapter titled As If in Their Shoes: Use of Virtual Reality to Enhance Faculty Intercultural Competence in the Handbook of Research on Innovative Digital Practices in Higher Education, published by IGI Global. The chapter proposes a framework to enhance faculty members' intercultural competence through VR empathy training. The proposed framework draws on improving cognitive, compassion, emotional empathy, and self-reflection.

I presented a study design at the Society for Information Technology & Teacher Education (SITE 2022) conference in April on using Augmented reality for students with reading comprehension difficulties. The study design was published in the conference proceedings.

My secondary research areas focus on using digital media to enhance teaching and learning language and language for students in general and students who are disadvantaged in particular.
